Bracara Augusta 2012
Está a decorrer mais uma edição da Braga Romana.
Na quarta-feira recebemos o imperador Caius César com uma grande festa!
A escola da pequena Papgena, mais uma vez, participou e este ano, resolvi responder ao desafio, lançado aos pais, e também me vesti de romana!
Another edition of the Roman Braga is running.
On Wednesday we received the emperor Caius Caesar with a big celebration!
Little Papgena’s school, once again, participated and this year I decided to accept the challenge, released to parents, and I also dress-up as a roman!

O vestido é super fácil de fazer: dois rectângulos em que a largura deverá ser igual à medida dos nossos braços estendidos (pulso a pulso) e o comprimento igual à distância dos ombros aos tornozelos.
Coze-se dos lados, deixando uma abertura para os braços em cima deixa-se uma abertura ao meio para a cabeça.
Eu optei por no topo não cozer tudo a direito deixando aberturas espaçadas e decorando os sítios onde cozi com conchas:
The dress is very easy to make: two rectangles in which the width should be equal to the measure of our outstretched arms (wrist to wrist) and length equal to the distance from the shoulders to the ankles.
Sew the sides, leaving an opening for the arms and an opening to the head.
I chose not to sew all the top, leaving spaced openings, and mark the closures with shells:

| O colar foi feito com uma tira de couro enfiada numa concha. As conchas do vestido foram coladas, com cola quente, a rodelas de feltro laranja e estas cozidas ao tecido / The necklace is a leather strap stuck in a shell. The dress' shells were hot glue to orange slices of felt and then sew to the fabric. |

| Entrancei tiras de tecido laranja e branco para prender à roda da cabeça e colei um búzio no meio (o tecido é aquele algodão de t-shirt por isso não esfia) / I made a braid with strios of orange and white fabric to attach to the back of the head and glued a shell on the midle (I used a kind of t-shit cotton fabric so, it won't unravel) |

| O cinto foi feito da mesma forma que a trança da cabeça. Usei tiras de tecido laranjas, brancas e verdes. Enfiei conchas e contas de madeira nas pontas / The belt was done the same way as the head's braid. I used strips of orange, white and green fabric. I stuffed shells and wooden beads at the tips |

O agrupamento de escolas de Palmeira até tem um video do desfile de quarta-feira.

Avé César!!!
Ontem, Bracara Augusta recebeu a visita de Caius César e vai festejar a sua presença até Domingo!
Yesterday, Bracara Augusta received the visit of Caius Caesar and will enjoy his presence until Sunday!
Todos se vestiram a preceito para o receber:

E as romanas enfeitaram os seus cabelos e colocaram as suas melhores joias!!!
And the Roman adorned their hair and put on their best jewelry!!
Venham juntar-se à festa!!!!

PS – depois dos problemas do blogger, fiquei sem internet desde a semana passada (por causa de uma trovoada), só hoje voltei a ter ligação. Estou curiosa para visitar toda a gente!!!
After the blogger’s problems, I was without internet since last week (because of a thunderstorm), only today I came to have a connection. I'm curious to see everyone!
