Primeira saia/First skirt

Não gosto muito de usar saias, acho as calças muito mais práticas, além de que sou friorenta e, no inverno, mesmo com meias e calças muitas vezes tenho frio. Mas, ultimamente, com esta vaga de calor (temperaturas sempre perto dos 40º e acima) as calças estavam mesmo a incomodar-me.
Por isso, e porque seria um desperdicio de dinheiro, ir a correr comprar saias para depois ficarem no armário guardadas, resolvi rebuscar no que tenho em casa.
A primeira, que encontrei, foi esta:
I don't really like wearing skirts, I think pants are much more practical and I am allways chilly in winter, even with socks and pants often I have cold. But lately, with this heat wave (temperatures always around 40 ° and above) the pants were really bothering me.
Therefore, and because it would be a waste of money, go running to buy skirts and then get stored in the closet, I decided to discover what I had at home.
The first one I found was this:

Esta saia tem, à vontade, uns 15 anos. E já não a vestia pelo menos há 13!
Era muito comprida, 96 cm, no entanto, já não me servia na cintura nem nas ancas (as respectivas medidas, vão ficar no segredo dos deuses!!!).
Por isso...
Dobrei-a ao meio e coloquei-a no tapete verde, e cortei cerca de 25 cm (quando tirei a fotografia ainda estava a decidir quanto cortaria).
Depois, fiz um bainha de cerca de 3 cms e cozi na máquina de costura.
Em seguida, cortei um elástico com a medida em torno da minha cintura menos um bocadinho, enfiei um alfinete-de-ama e passei-o por dentro da bainha.
This skirt has, probably, 15 years. And I don't wear it for at least 13!

It was very long, 96 cm, however, no longer served me at the waist or in the hips (their measures, are a well kept secret!!!).
So ...

I folded it in half and put it on the my self healing mat, and cut about 25 cm (when I took the picture I was still deciding where to cut).
Then, I made a seam of about 3 cms and sewed on the sewing machine.
Then I cut a rubber band, with a bit less of my waist's measure, I stuck a safety-pin on it and pull inside of the seam.

Por fim, cozi à mão as duas pontas do elástico e..

Finally, hand-sewed the two ends of the elastic and ...

voilà

uma saia que me serve!!
one skirt that fits me!!
